Construction client looking to build a world-class sustainable procurement function that is capable of effectively supporting the wider business plan and upcoming projects.
Our approach was to assign an on-site experienced Head of Procurement with many years’ experience of successfully delivering procurement projects, over a period of five months. The highly skilled, knowledgeable and experienced procurement leader oversaw the day-to-day operational management of the clients procurement function.
As part of the engagement, we developed and agreed procurement plans with internal stakeholders, supported sourcing and contracting activity, and delivered coaching and development of the existing procurement team.
To build the procurement function’s capability, we drove the identification, development and implementation of improvement initiatives. We provided additional support as necessary, to further enhance the clients procurement capacity and capability.
Recommendations were made to enhance the clients e-sourcing, procure-to-pay and other procurement related systems, along with in-depth training to ensure successful implementation of system improvements.
Deliverables included; Onsite Procurement Head, Recruitment support, Organizational design, Competence framework, Procurement Job descriptions, Strategic sourcing process map, templates, training and toolbox.
