Project Background

Financial Services organization looking to transform its administration department into a world-class procurement function.

Methodology

Our approach was to assign an on-site experienced Head of Procurement with many years’ experiences of successfully delivering procurement projects, over a period of 3 years. The highly skilled, knowledgeable, and experienced procurement leader oversaw the day-to-day operational management of the client’s procurement function.

Process

Established procurement governance including policy, procedures, and procurement committee. Centralized all procurement activities in alignment with Executive Committee’s policy mandate. Implemented ‘No PO, No Pay’ policy.

Segregated procurement and operational activities and established management reporting. Implemented ‘Best Practice’ procurement processes and drove compliance.

Structure

Designed and implement organizational structure for administration and procurement department. Developed procurement ‘Category Management’ structure. Post-merger integration of Dubai bank and Emirates Islamic Bank procurement activities.

Tools

Leveraged electronic sourcing tool to reduce cost and increase transparency of sourcing activity. Re-engineered procure to pay process; improved P2P cycle times and increased compliance.

Construction client looking to build a world-class sustainable procurement function that is capable of effectively supporting the wider business plan and upcoming projects.

Methodology

Our approach was to assign an on-site experienced Head of Procurement with many years’ experiences of successfully delivering procurement projects, over a period of five months. The highly skilled, knowledgeable, and experienced procurement leader oversaw the day-to-day operational management of the client’s procurement function.

As part of the engagement, we developed and agreed procurement plans with internal stakeholders, supported sourcing and contracting activity, and delivered coaching and development of the existing procurement team. To build the procurement function’s capability, we drove the identification, development, and implementation of improvement initiatives. We provided additional support as necessary, to further enhance the client’s procurement capacity and capability.

Results Deliverables

Recommendations were made to enhance the clients e-sourcing, procure-to-pay and other procurement related systems, along with in-depth training to ensure successful implementation of system improvements.

The client planned to develop its procurement capability to a best-in-class standard and sought a specialist procurement consultancy organization to support its procurement transformation.
